General technical conditions for oxygen supply terminals and alarm devices in medical centers

The medical center oxygen supply system is composed of a central oxygen supply station, pipelines, valves and terminal oxygen supply plugs. The terminal part refers to the end of the piping system in the medical center oxygen supply system. It is equipped with quick connector sockets (or general gas connectors), which can be inserted into (or connected to) gas plugs of medical devices such as oxygen humidifiers, anesthesia machines and ventilators.

In our country's pharmaceutical industry standards, there are clear technical regulations for oxygen supply terminals and alarm devices in medical centers. Terminals and alarm devices should meet the following technical conditions to meet relevant national requirements.


General technical conditions for medical center terminals

1. The terminal should use a quick connector (or a general gas connector), and the oxygen quick connector should be distinguished from other quick connectors to prevent wrong insertion. Quick connectors should be flexible, air-tight, and interchangeable. There should be a maintenance switch in the pipeline.

2. Two or more oxygen terminals should be set up in the operating room and the rescue room.

3. The flow rate of each terminal should not be less than 10L/min.


General technical requirements for medical center alarm devices

1. In order to ensure the normal oxygen supply of the system, there should be an oxygen supply under pressure alarm device. When the pressure of the oxygen supply system is lower than the alarm pressure, there should be sound and light alarm at the same time. The error of alarm pressure is not more than 3%.

2. The sound alarm is required to be heard within 1.5 m in a 55 dB(A) noise environment.

3. The light alarm is a red indicator light.

4. The oxygen supply under pressure alarm device must use an intrinsically safe circuit. Intrinsically safe circuits shall meet the requirements of GB 3836.4.
