The Overseas Children's Hospital PSA Oxygen Generation System Case
Project Background
As medical standards advance and public health consciousness grows, the healthcare sector has undergone rapid development in select overseas countries and regions. Modern medical facilities—especially large hospitals, specialized treatment centers, and newly constructed institutions—increasingly depend on therapeutic oxygen supplies. Conventional reliance on liquid oxygen tanks or high-pressure gas cylinders creates operational challenges for these facilities, compromising emergency readiness and patient safety due to dependence on third-party suppliers.
Company Profile
An overseas pediatric medical institution partnered with CAN GAS to implement an independent, reliable, and cost-effective medical oxygen supply system based on Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) air separation technology. The goal was to establish a stable, efficient, and economical source of medical-grade oxygen tailored to their specific needs.
Project Description
CAN GAS delivered a comprehensive onsite PSA medical oxygen generation solution comprising:
1. A high-performance PSA oxygen producer delivering 20 Nm³/h at ≥93% purity (±3%) with outlet pressure up to 10 bar;
2. An integrated oxygen filling station capable of charging cylinders at 12 Nm³/h and 150 bar pressure during off-peak demand periods.
This dual-function design maximizes equipment utilization efficiency, enabling flexible mode switching between continuous hospital supply and emergency backup storage. The system enhances both safety and operational flexibility in oxygen management.

Project Highlights
Medical-Grade Engineering excellence
● Oil-free air compression + multistage filtration ensures sterile, particle-free oxygen production. Dedicated booster compressors maintain dryness and purity throughout the process.
Safety & Compliance by design
● Fully automated safety protocols include: real-time monitoring of purity/flow/pressure/dew point; intelligent alarms for parameter deviations; automatic pressure lockout outside safe ranges; uninterruptible power supply (UPS) backup during outages. Entire system meets international medical device certifications and local regulatory requirements for medical gases.
Smart resource optimization
● Dual-mode operation: Main supply feeds directly into hospital networks (3–10 bar) for immediate distribution to patient terminals; secondary mode fills high-pressure cylinders as strategic reserves during low usage windows. Eliminates wasteful peak-shaving practices while ensuring emergency preparedness.
● Cost advantage over liquid oxygen procurement: Removes recurring logistics expenses associated with transport/storage/handling hazardous materials. Delivers substantial long-term ROI through reduced supply chain costs.
Lifecycle service commitment
● Global responsiveness: 24/7 remote technical support + local spare parts inventory minimize downtime risks.
● End-to-end partnership: From initial feasibility study through installation/commissioning, staff training, preventive maintenance scheduling, consumable replacement programs, and performance optimization audits—we empower clinical teams to focus solely on patient care.
