How to adjust the capacity of oxygen generator in oxygen enriching room at different altitudes
Return

We know that the earth is surrounded by an atmosphere that can neither be seen nor touched, but it has amazing mass. Based on sea level, the pressure that the atmosphere can give is equivalent to 760 mm Hg. In addition, the more the atmosphere is at altitudes closer to sea level, the greater the atmospheric pressure and oxygen partial pressure will be. The higher the altitude, the lower the atmospheric pressure and oxygen partial pressure will be, and the altitude reaction that people often say will follow.

When the altitude is 100 meters, the oxygen partial pressure drops to 156.79 mm Hg, the equivalent oxygen concentration is 20.65%, which is 98.6% of the oxygen content at 0 altitude. When the altitude is 1000m, the oxygen partial pressure drops to 140.9mm Hg, the equivalent oxygen concentration is 18.54%, which is 88.5% of the oxygen content at 0 altitude. Although it is easy to understand that altitude is inversely proportional to oxygen content, it is not enough to only know these, because it needs strict calculation to know how to select the capacity of oxygen generator at a specific altitude is the most appropriate; Here, CAN GAS suggests to refer to the following chart for configuration.

Notes:

1. The product oxygen purity from oxygen generator is 90%, and the oxygen production is the volume flow under standard state (101.3kPa).

2. The standard room is for 2 people, with an area of about 10m2 and a floor height of 2.7m.

3. For the target of carbon dioxide concentration in the room not exceed 5000ppm. If the carbon dioxide concentration is reduced, the flow of the oxygen generator  shall be increased.

4. The room is well sealed, and the air exchange rate per hour shall not exceed 13.5m3. If the air leakage is too much, it is necessary to increase the flow of the oxygen generator.
