A hydroponic system is a modern cultivation technology that grows plants without soil, using nutrient solutions instead. It is suitable for cultivating vegetables, flowers, and medicinal plants. Data shows that hydroponically growing lettuce requires 90% less water than traditional field agriculture. Conventional farming involves labor-intensive tasks like watering, fertilizing, and pesticide application, whereas hydroponics simplifies these processes and increases yields. Plants in hydroponic systems do not need watering as their roots are immersed in nutrient solutions, eliminating pest threats (and the need for pesticides). Automated operations also reduce the workforce needed for maintenance.
