Medical gas systems include medical central oxygen supply systems, medical air systems, medical vacuum systems, medical nitrogen systems, medical carbon dioxide, helium, argon, nitrous oxide and medical mixed gas systems, etc. Among them, the medical center oxygen supply system uses a PSA oxygen generator to produce oxygen, and then delivers the oxygen to wards, operating rooms and other oxygen-consuming departments through pipelines. Although oxygen is produced by the same system, the pressure in the pipeline is actually different. The purpose of this is because grading pipeline pressure can make medical gases more rationally used.

Regarding the design pressure of medical gas pipelines, it is clearly stipulated in my country's "Pressure Pipe Specification for Industrial Pipes Part 3: Design and Calculation" GB/T 20801.3. Generally speaking, it is divided into 4 levels, corresponding to vacuum pipelines, Low pressure pipelines, medium pressure pipelines and high pressure pipelines. Domestic oxygen production system manufacturers will refer to this standard for pipeline pressure design, and provide corresponding pressure levels for different pipeline uses. Specifically;

Vacuum pipelines are mostly used in medical vacuum, anesthesia or respiratory waste gas discharge pipelines, etc., and their pressure range should be 0-0.1MPa;

Low-pressure pipelines are mostly used for compressed medical gas pipelines, medical welding insulated gas bottle bus pipes, etc., and their pressure range should be 0-1.6MPa;

Medium-pressure pipelines are mostly used for nitrous oxide busses, medical nitrous oxide/oxygen busses, medical carbon dioxide busses, etc., and their pressure range should be 1.6-10MPa;

High-pressure pipelines are mostly used for medical oxygen bus, medical nitrogen bus, medical helium/oxygen bus pipelines, etc., and their pressure range should be greater than or equal to 10MPa.
